Robin’s Story

In mid-February Robin was put in the hospital on life support and the family was told she had a 50/50 chance of survival. Robin was hit with a perfect storm of conditions which caused toxic shock syndrome, kidney failure with 24/7 dialysis, the highest level of life support, coma conditions, etc. All of which initially presented as flu symptoms. Her BP dropped into the 30’s/20’s on day 1 of her hospitalization.

After three weeks in ICU she is off life support and dialysis, eating solid foods, talking, laughing and so ready to get home to her baby girl (5 years old).  She really is a miracle - God is so good!!

The hardest part of her upcoming recovery is, they had to amputate both of her hands and her feet. . The need to amputate was the result of the medical interventions which ultimately saved her life, by protecting her vital organs, but caused restricted blood flow to her extremities.

She will need prosthetics and will need to learn how to manage this new life in an entirely different way.  Please consider contributing by donating directly to her “Go Fund Me” or by purchasing some of our designated “fund raising cheesecakes” where the proceeds will go towards Robin’s prosthetics.
